Facebook has already started rolling out a new feature called 3D photos that capture an additional layer of depth to give the images a third-dimension in both news feed and VR mode.
The feature captures the distance between the foreground and background to bring lifelike sense with depth and movement.
The feature is currently available on Apple iPhones and all the users need to do is capture a portrait image using compatible dual-lens smartphones and share it as 3D photo on Facebook.
The 3D photo posted on Facebook lets users scroll, pan and tilt in 3D. The 3D photos can also be viewed in the VR mode using Oculus Go, Oculus Browser or Firefox on Oculus Rift.
If you also want to post 3D photos and wondering on how to do it, here’s our step-by-step guide for you.
Pre-requisites:
User must be using Apple iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR
The photos should be taken in portrait mode
Steps to follow:
1.First, you’ll need to open your camera and switch to ‘Portrait’ mode and click pictures you want to share, or you can also use already taken portrait photos.
2.Now, head to ‘Facebook’ app

2.Subjects with contrasting colours give a better sense of depth
3.Use texture, solid edges to enhance the portrait image
4.Depth sensors might not be that accurate with transparent objects
How to get better performance and FPS on PUBG Mobile
This is all you will need to know to increase the performance of the PUBG Mobile game on your Android smartphone.
If there is one game on mobile right now that can be called the most popular, that would probably be PUBG Mobile. It was launched in March and the game has grown to become a phenomenon. It has almost eclipsed the popularity of the PC version of the game and has even managed to beat out the mobile version of its biggest rival, Fortnite.
But like its PC version, the mobile version of the game is a very demanding game in terms of hardware. And it usually does not run as smooth on the lower and mid-end devices. Its performance is not perfect even on high-end and flagship devices. And low FPS, graphics and performance end up affecting the game experience and players have a hard time winning. PUBG Mobile has even become a competitive game with a whole lot of tournaments being held.
And we have come across a couple of processes to enhance the performance of PUBG Mobile, but since one of these processes leaves the other ones moot, we will only be showing one. This method essentially uses the other one to fix the performance issue.
How to get better PUBG Mobile performance on Android
Now the method we will be talking about only works on Android because iOS does not let apps tweak background files.
1. Installing the app GFX Tool by developer tsoml from the Google Play Store.
2. Once installed launch the app to come to the menu interface with a whole list of options.
3. Select the correct version of the game from the top, keeping in mind that (GP) indicates the global version that is downloadable from the Google Play Store.
4. Then comes resolution, and here it is suggested that users select the highest resolution supported by their device display.
5. Next comes graphics, and here select ‘Balanced’ for a very optimal performance. Users can select ‘Smooth’ or ‘HD’ based on the hardware quality of their phones. Remember, selecting higher quality will make the phone heat up.
6. Next is FPS and here almost all devices come with 60 FPS displays and selecting 60FPS will produce the best results.
7. As for Anti-aliasing, we would ask users with mid ranged and budget smartphones to skip this and keep it disabled. High-end device users can use this and select 2X or 4X according to the preference of how much they would want to smooth out the textures.
8. Other options like Shadows and GPU Optimization can be enabled and disabled according to preference.
9. Once the settings are selected, select ‘Accept’ and then ‘Run Game’ which will launch the game, and hopefully you will notice the difference.

We must warn users that this app comes with advertisements and it is from a developer that is not among the known ones. This is not an official app either and Tencent Games might just want to clamp down on third-party performance boosters which might effectively block the app.

How to know when to change the battery of Apple MacBook
Let's face it, no laptop or any machine is perfect. Whether it's an Apple MacBook or any Windows PC or laptop, the fast rate of technology obsolescence hits all. And as a result, after some point in time, we need to upgrade these devices to make them future proof or at least powerful enough to meet our current requirements.
Although there are numerous parts that can be upgraded in a laptop, here we'll be talk about Apple MacBook’s battery. We all have come across several MacBook owners who don’t know the typical lifecycle of the device’s battery or when exactly it needs to be replaced.
Those who have been using a MacBook since past few months or years would already know that the laptop’s battery depletes eventually and requires more charging time. So, here's how you can know when you need to change your MacBook’s battery.
You can check the status of the MacBook battery by using the inbuilt tool. All you need to do is to press the 'Option' button on the keyboard and click on the battery icon in the menu bar. The drop down will show you the 'condition' of the battery. In all probability, it should show you one of the four options - Normal, Replace Soon, Replace Now and Service Battery.
There’s nothing to be concerned about if the icon shows 'Normal' or 'Replace Soon'. However, if it shows 'Replace Now' you should know that the battery now has significantly less charge and that it's time you replace it. If it shows the message 'Service Battery', it means that it's time for you to take your laptop to a service centre and immediately get those batteries replaced.
To get the exact charging cycle numbers (see how many charging cycles the battery has gone through), you can hold the 'Option' key and click on the Apple menu. Then click on 'System Information', followed by 'Power' in the 'Hardware' section.
Apple has also given the cycle counts of every MacBook Air and MacBook Pro model launched. Most of the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and Touch IDs have 1000 charging, same as the recently launched MacBook Air with Retina display. The highest number of cycles mentioned are 1000 though.
“Batteries have a limited amount of charge cycles before they're considered to be consumed. Once consumed, a replacement battery is recommended. You can use your battery after it reaches its maximum cycle count, but you might notice a reduction in your battery life,” says Apple support website.
Talking about batteries, this year Apple has given a special attention to the battery life of iPhones. The firm was last year found to lower the performance levels of the iPhone to keep the battery performance intact. However, Apple apologised for not informing the customers and later introduced an option to let users decide how the device should perform and consume battery.

Now convert any photo on your smartphone into a WhatsApp Sticker
WhatsApp enabled stickers feature last month and is already turning out to be a popular feature.
WhatsApp finally enabled stickers feature last month and offered a bunch of stickers option within the main application. Most of the stickers available as part of initial launch on WhatsApp are identical to ones previously available on Facebook Messenger. But if you own an Android smartphone then creating new stickers and adding them to your library on WhatsApp is not a difficult task.
One of the apps gaining popularity for development of stickers on Android is called the Sticker Studio. This free app created by Sven van der Zee allows you to snap photos or import images into it and then allows users to simply draw an outline around the portion you want to turn into a sticker. Though it has some kind of limitations, it is arguably one of the easiest ways to create new stickers on WhatsApp.
Some of the restrictions with the app is that you will need to create at least three stickers before you can export a pack of them into WhatsApp. The app has limitation of 10 sticker packs with a maximum of 30 stickers per pack.
If you are someone who tends to be in a number of WhatsApp groups and would prefer sharing your own reaction stickers instead of those available on the internet then this app would be the one you need to download on your Android smartphone. Since the feature went live, the stickers seems to be the go to thing for most WhatsApp users.
During the festive season, a lot of WhatsApp users tweeted that they have been only getting stickers from friends and family. If you wish to add new human element to that feature then Sticker Studio will really handy. There are also other apps like ‘Sticker Maker’ that let you create your own stickers for WhatsApp.
WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that would let users search for stickers. While WhatsApp is new to the stickers feature, it seems to have gained popularity much faster than platforms like Telegram, Facebook Messenger and Hike Messenger, which have had stickers feature for few years now.
Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 Android app lets you enable fast DNS: Here’s how you can use it
Cloudflare DNS service puts enhanced focus on security and privacy, and is claimed to be faster than the competition.
You may not be aware of Cloudflare, but the California-based company is one of the biggest providers of Internet-based services, including everything from content delivery and DDoS mitigation, to Internet security and DNS. By its own admission, Cloudflare serves more traffic than Twitter, Amazon, Apple, Instagram, Bing, and Wikipedia combined.
While Cloudflare’s services aren’t exactly visible to end users directly, earlier this year, the company launched its 1.1.1.1 DNS (Domain Name Server) service for the public. As noted by an XDA Developers report, Cloudflare’s DNS resolver puts enhanced focus on data privacy and network speed. It doesn’t log the user’s IP address, and is claimed to be faster than other DNS solutions as well.
To enable easy usage of its DNS service on Android smartphones, Cloudflare has launched its 1.1.1.1 app. The app is quite lightweight and doesn’t require the smartphone to be rooted either. All you have to do is launch the app, hit the toggle button to ‘On’, and 1.1.1.1 will take care of the rest.
It’s worth noting that the above method applies to smartphones running Android Oreo or lower. In case your smartphone is already on the latest Android Pie, you don’t even need the app. In that case, follow the steps mentioned below:
1.Navigate to Settings > Network & Internet
2.Select “Private DNS mode”.
3.For the Private DNS provider hostname, enter: “1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com” (without quotes). Once done, tap Save.
Among other things, Cloudflare’s DNS resolver service can also be used to access restricted/blocked websites.
Intel XMM 8160 5G Modem Launched, First Devices Due in First Half of 2020
- Intel's new XMM 8160 5G modem has been launched
- The 5G modem will be available in the second half of 2019
- Commercial devices based on the 5G modem due in the first half of 2020
Intel on Monday announced its latest Intel XMM 8160 5G multimode modem which is aimed at providing 5G connectivity to devices including mobiles, PCs, and broadband access gateways. With support for peak download speeds of up to 6Gbps per second, this new Intel 5G modem will be made available in the second half of 2019 with commercial devices coming to market in the first half of 2020. The announcement appears to corroborate a recent report that claimed that Apple will stick to Intel cellular modems and will launch the first iPhone with a new 5G modem in 2020.
With its new single-chip multimode baseband capability, the new Intel XMM 8160 5G modem will allow device manufacturers to design smaller and more power-efficient 5G capable devices. It also eliminates the need of installing two separate modems for 5G and legacy connectivity. Intel's integrated multimode solution supports simultaneous connectivity (EN-DC) for LTE and 5G, allowing for backward compatibility to 4G if 5G networks are not available at any moment or location.
Other than that, Intel's XMM 8160 5G modem supports the new millimetre wave (mmWave) spectrum alongside the sub 6GHz NR support with downloads speeds of up to 6Gbps. The modem has been designed by Intel to scale with global deployments.
A Fast Company report from earlier this month claimed that the first 5G-enabled iPhone from Apple is likely to use an Intel 8161 5G modem, possibly a successor to the one launched this week, and could hit stores in the first half of 2020. Intel is all set to become the sole provider of iPhone modems, if everything goes as planned. The report also states that the upcoming Intel 8161 5G modem will use a 10-nanometre process.
How to watch much more than what you see on the interface in Netflix
Secret codes allow you to watch much more than what you see on the interface in Netflix.
Netflix has been providing entertainment at home for Indians for well over a year now and this festive season just got better because new secret codes for different genres on Netflix is now out. Netflix usually tailors content on each profile based on what the person usually watches and likes to watch. Now there is a good and a bad for this practice by Netflix. The good is that users won’t have to search too much for content that would prefer watching, but the bad is that it becomes difficult to find things to watch when they do want to watch something that is different from what they usually watch.
But users need not worry about that anymore since the new secret codes are out for the specific genres of content on Netflix. These codes will help users find content based on the genres and these would usually not be tailored to the preferences of the user, though they would be able to find a row of their preferred content. And the process to get to these sections only requires a small tweak to the URL.
How to apply Netflix secret code
The way to use these codes is simple, and all one needs to do is edit the URL to replace “” with the codes given in the list below.
http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/
For example if someone wants to explore what Netlfix has to offer in the “Action & Adventure” genre, the code for that is “1365” and all the user needs to do is replace the “” with that number, like this.
http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/1365
This works on Netflix in all the countries that it is available in.

How to create your own custom WhatsApp sticker packs
Custom stickers can help you make your conversations more interesting, and also express yourself.
Stickers are the latest feature that developers of the popular multimedia messaging app WhatsApp have added to the platform. The feature adds the ability to share ‘stickers’ with your friends and family, and they are much more flexible than emojis as they can be made of images, sketches, or even graphics. This adds more flexibility to the way users can express themselves on the platforms. Sticker support is not new as WhatsApp rivals including Hike and Telegram already have this feature since years. WhatsApp announced the rollout of this new feature about a week back and it has continued to roll it out for users across the globe.
As the stickers support continues to roll out of all the WhatsApp users, one thing that is lacking is the support for making custom sticker packs. Instead, according to the support guidelines by the company, users need to have some level of coding knowledge to make sticker pack apps that other users on the internet can install. However, it looks like the issue of creating custom sticker packs seems to have been resolved by a third party app. We have compiled a list of steps for you to follow so that you can create your own sticker packs and then load them on your WhatsApp.
Before getting started, ensure that your version of WhatsApp supports the Stickers functionality. If in case you don’t have access to the stickers functionality then you can force enable the functionality.
Once you are sure that you can access the stickers feature, follow the instructions given below to create your own stickers and sticker packs. One thing to note here is that this guide is only applicable for Android users.
Creating custom stickers and sticker apps
Step One
Head over to Google Play Store and locate the app with the name “Sticker maker for WhatsApp” or head to bit.ly/2PMDooy to install the app on your Android device to install the app.
Step Two
When installed, open the app and tap on the button ‘Create a new stickerpack’ and enter the Stickerpack name along with the name of the author.
Step Three
Open the sticker pack and you will be greeted with an empty screen with placeholders for the ‘tray icon’ along with placeholders for thirty stickers in one sticker pack.
Step Four
Tap on the place ‘tray icon’ placeholder and the app will ask you for permission to use the camera of the phone to take pictures and video along with storage of the device to use photos, media, and files on the device.
Step Five
Choose any image file with the ‘Select File’ option or capture the image with ‘Take Photo’ option. Once you select the file or click the image, draw an outline for the area in the image that you want to keep as the sticker. Use your finger to draw the outline and pinch and zoom to enlarge the image for an accurate cut-out.
Step Six
Tap on the ‘Yes, Save Sticker’, and add whatever number of stickers in the sticker pack. The minimum seems to be three stickers while the maximum is capped to thirty. Once you are done with the sticker pack, tap on the ‘Publish Sticker Pack’ button towards to lower right side of the bottom.
Step Seven
Tapping the green button will give a prompt if you want to add the sticker pack to your WhatsApp. The thing to note here is that only you can use the sticker pack as it is technically sideloading the sticker pack on your system. It may be possible to export and import these stickers between different phones.
That’s it. You can now send these stickers to your family and friends on personal chats, or on groups.
How to Disable “App is Using Battery” Notification in Android Oreo
Recently, I got Android Oreo update in my Moto G5S Plus, and while there are so many new options and UI changes, one thing I didn’t like is sticky – “app is using battery” notification. It’s not even like other notifications which you can swipe away. I was receiving notification for two apps – one is an app lock and another is for showing Internet speed. And, I didn’t want to uninstall any of these apps.
What is this notification actually about?
Google introduced a new feature called Persistent Notification in Android 8.0 Oreo. The Android system detects the app which is using the battery in the background and show it as a persistent (sticky) notification. While it’s a nice and helpful feature but people like me start getting annoyed by it.
Quick Way to Fix – App is Using Battery Notification
Here, I am explaining both the methods to disable and re-enable this notification in case you want. Just follow the steps below.
Disable App is “Using Battery” Notification in Android Oreo
